The cliff side Cinque Terre walking trail is one of the most famous walking trails in the world. The cliff side track is known as the blue trail and takes you through each of the five villages in about 8 hours. Difficulties of paths vary with Monterosso to Vernazza being the most difficult and Manarola to Riomaggiore the easiest.

There are also other walking tracks that take you up to the sanctuaries of each of the five villages known as the red trail.

For hiking there are two types of Cinque Terre Cards that can be purchased:

1. The Cinque Terre Card. This Card includes the following services: Use of ecological Park buses, Access to all trekking paths, Wi-fi internet connection.
Adults – 1 day: €7.50/2 days:€14.50
Over 70 years – 1 day: €6/ 2 days: €10
Children (4 - 12 years) – 1 day: €4.50/ 2 days: €7.20
Family – 1 day: €19.60/ 2 days: €31.50
Children from 0 to 4 years old – free

2. The Cinque Terre Train Card. This Card includes all the above services plus unlimited train travel between Levanto and La Spezia which includes the five villages of the Cinque Terre.
Adults – 1 day: €16/ 2 days: €29/ 3 days: €41
Over 70 years – 1 day: €13
Children (4 - 12 years) – 1 day: €10
Family: 1 day – €42
Children from 0 to 4 years old – free

We recommend the Cinque Terre Train Card as it gives visitors the option of taking the two minute train between one village and the next should visitors not wish to walk the whole distance or when a walking track may be closed for maintenance.

For those not wishing to hike and just catch the trains to all villages the Cinque Terre Train Card could also be considered as to by train tickets separately the price is €4 for every train trip in the Cinque Terre.
